We have a tough row to hoe, that’s for sure. I haven’t given up though. We won’t go down without a fight - that’s not our way. It’s not where we come from, not our heritage. It may be a million individual battles or one cohesive war. We’ll give it hell one last time (at least) - I have faith in that. You are fighting one of those individual battles right now, by being here.
I do my little part. I email elected officials, sign petitions, post articles, but in the grand scheme of things it feels like we are losing. Homosexual marriage, mosque at ground zero, huge budget deficits, higher taxes, no jobs - I just don’t feel very optimistic. I am old enough to know that in my lifetime things have never been so bad.
