NATO is a relic of the Cold War. Turkey is a part of the new Islamofascist Axis powers, which include the nation-states of Iran and Syria at it’s core, and have terrorist organizations such as Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Queda, Islamic Jihad and a host of others firmly in their coalition as well. Also within their working global Axis is North Korea, the aforementioned Turkey (although just how deeply committed or involved they are is not known - yet), Lebanon (which really is merely an appendage of Hezbollah at this stage), Sudan, Libya, Yemen, and Somalia.

On the “sidelines” but with a stake in the game is the Palestinian Authority on the West Bank, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain and Quatar. Of those, believe it or not, only the PA is likely to side with Iran and their Axis in any kind of conflagration — the others have FAR too much to lose culturally, religiously, economically and politically — and they KNOW it.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out — but it almost has to start playing out something this fall...
