ROME A mother of two boys aged 12 and 14 reported a topless bather to police because the way she applied suntan lotion was "troubling" her sons.
The 26-year-old sunbather, identified only as Luisa under Italian privacy laws, was questioned by officers, who have opened an obscenity investigation.

Are troubling and excited similar sounding words in Italian that it could be a translation problem?

In a related story the 42 police cars that responded to the complaint with full lights and sirens disrupted traffic for hours.

It would trouble me too if I was at the beach in a euro-speedo style suit with my mom and some girl gave me a woody.

Damn Italian privacy laws!

perhaps she is a mother trying to raise boys with a serious case of “sissy boy syndrome”
(I bet these boys are now globally embarrased and humiliated by their mommy)

If unrestriced topless sunbathing is legal in the relevant jurisdiction, there’s nothing to say. Don’t want your sons to see women putting lotion on their breasts? Don’t take them where it’s done.

Why Trouble? Surely at 12 and 14 she has weaned the boys by now. ;-)

Sounds like the mommy was jealous of the sunbather’s assets. I’ll bet the boys had no complaints at all.

From the article:
"She told us that she had asked the woman to cover herself up because her young sons aged 12 and 14, had been admiring the sunbather and they had been troubled by what she was doing."
The statement seems contradictory to me.

Haha.
10-to-1 she saw her teenage sons’ “strip-club” face staring out the window ... and that “troubled” was the word SHE came up with.
