WASHINGTON, D.C., August 11, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) -- GOProud, which bills itself as the "only national organization representing gay conservatives," has announced that well-known conservative author Ann Coulter is headlining their first annual "Homocon."
The announcement shocked both advocates of traditional family values and homosexualist advocates of "gay rights," who have previously attacked Coulter for her supposedly homophobic language and beliefs.
Christopher Barron, Chairman of the Board of GOProud, said he could think of no "conservative more fun to headline our inaugural party then the self-professed ‘right-wing Judy Garland’--Ann Coulter." Judy Garland is an icon among homosexuals.
“The gay left has done their best to take all the fun out of politics, with their endless list of boycotts and protests," said Barron. "Homocon is going to be our annual effort to counter the ‘no fun police’ on the left."
The GOProud "party" will be taking place Saturday, September 25, in New York City. Sponsorships of the event, which include two tickets, are available for $2500, while general admission tickets go on sale August 20th for $250.
Peter La Barbera, president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) said that Coulter should reconsider her appearance at the event. "As a fan of Ann Coulter, it pains me to see her cave in to political correctness and lend credibility to the phony homosexual "conservatives" over at GOProud," he stated.
He said that half of GOProud's top 10 federal priorities center on advancing homosexuality. The federal legislative priorities that GOProud endorses include repealing the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" ban on homosexuals serving in the military, "defending" the Constitution by "opposing any anti-gay federal marriage amendment," and changing the tax code in a way that "will provide equity for gays and lesbians."

Coulter is just wrong to go there. If she is going to “evolve” her opinion of homosexual marriage and fake civil unions, then she has jumped the shark.
Conservative means conservative. Not fiscal only, not social only.

Isn’t Coulter supposed to be a Catholic? And doesn’t headquarters state clearly that homosexuality is wrong? Who is directing whom?
This is Pelosi’s argument promoting abortion. Her view on abortion trumps her church’s doctrines.

They aren't keeping it in the privacy of their own home. GOProud has a homosexual agenda that is far reaching. They even want special money for gay business. These people are NOT social conservatives.

I agree, I don’t care what they do in their homes, however I am a little put off by conservatives who want to band together based on their sexual inclinations. I’m tired of all this group identity stuff. It’s divisive and it’s not good for the country.

“Conservative Homosexual” is an oxymoron. There is nothing “conservative” about being homosexual.
I don’t care if people want to have sex with a person of the same gender or with doorknobs, that is their decision.
If a conservative homosexual wants to join in returning our government to its constitutional roots, jump on board.
But it sounds like this group is all about the homosexual agenda of repealing DADT and legalizing homosexual marriage, since 5 out of 10 of their agenda points revolve around homosexual issues.
I can’t imagine that AC would support these issues, but we’ll know after her speech where she stands. If she embraces repealing DADT and supports homosexual marriage, then she is no longer a conservative. Time will tell.

Me either. I have never cared what they do in the privacy of their homes. It is the all out political assault on the institution of marriage and the relentless effort to have hate crimes legislation made law that bothers me. I also do not like the role that the homosexual lobby plays in the schools.

Her act always rang a bit untrue to me anyways.
And unlike many others, I’ve always found her rather repulsive, both physically and as a person or persona.
