“making up stories about fictional boyfriends”....this is a violation of the Cadet Honor Code, and usually grounds for dismissal.

She is about to start her 3rd year, and this is when the resignations happen. If you stay beyond that, and later quit, there is a possibility of having to serve for a few years as an E-4, to pay back for the education. I remember two instances where cadets (both women) resigned at this point...but were ‘convinced’ to stay.

West Point has not yet accepted her resignation, so look out. She may just stay, which is why the admitted violation of the honor code is interesting to me.

If she was an E=4 to pay back her service....well, I was a E-4 and what does that mean? That I was a profit center?

Its called lying and has always been a honor violation that would get you canned.
