This raises a couple of important questions.
1. Does Governor Brewer actually believe McCain’s new tough on border security charade?
2. Does she favor amnesty, or a pathway to citizenship for illegals, once border security has been improved to meet her standards? What does she support for the illegals already in the US?
Good point. I don’t think we know the answer to that.
Here’s a conspiracy theory to consider:
Did Brewer and McShame put their heads together early on to help McShame? Did they say, “Hey where is John weakest?” The answer, “Why, immigration!!!” Jan then volunteers, or McShame suggests to her, “Hey, why not have a big whoop-de-doo in AZ about illega;s, and pass a law, and Jan will be the torch-bearer, and everyone will love her and her support will zoom into the stratosphere. Then, John will come along and get her endorsement, thus removing the stain of amnesty from his reputation.
That works.
“1. Does Governor Brewer actually believe McCains new tough on border security charade?”
No, but she will get him on record saying he is.
Politicians like McCain change everytime the wind blows in a different direction. The trick is getting them to take a principaled stand and holding it over time......
Which is why people like McCain should never be let near the reins of Governmental power. The problem is getting a tick like McCain out of America’s hide once they have their heads stuck in......
