Uh, maybe they committed crimes in “disproportionate numbers”, just like they do here?
To: KyGeezer
"...Evidence from U.S. Army records shows conclusively that although blacks were a small statistical minority of U.S. troops in the European Theater --- less than 10 percent --- they were targeted, by French and American authorities alike, as the scapegoats for widespread American misbehavior and sexual violence. Black American soldiers were charged and convicted and punished for crimes against French people in numbers vastly disproportionate to their statistical presence in the American Army." So when can we expect to hear the apology for their misconduct? Our prisons are also disproportionately packed in the same way. So what do they have to say for themselves?
This is the age of apologizing for one's group, is it not?

Sixty-five years later they commit crimes in numbers vastly disproportionate to their statistical presence in the US population. Nothing to see here. Some things never change.

The Human Cost of Allied Victory in World War II Europe I wonder if this author would be interested in a book on the subject The Human Cost of Allied Defeat in World War II Europe.

This goes back to Louis Gilloux's book
OK, Joe and Alice Kaplan's recounting of Gilloux's experiences as an interpreter in France for the post-war US Army in
The Interpreter.
Gilloux had left-wing convictions and a monumental capacity for indignation. The cases he contrasts -- a black soldier executed for a attempted rape and murder and a white officer acquitted for killing an Austrian-born French soldier he mistakenly thought was a spy -- really weren't the glaring race-based contradiction Gilloux thought. Unbiased observers could come up with very different verdicts than the one Gilloux expected.
Gilloux's sympathy with African-American defendants led him to downplay the gravity of rape indictments. Being politically correct enough on race for today's standards, he fails the test on gender.
Kaplan's book about Gilloux attracted a lot of attention because Louis Till, one of the soldiers executed for sexual assault was the father of Emmett Till, victim of a famous lynching in 1955. As an added irony, Alice Kaplan was one of the signers of a letter condemning the Duke lacrosse players in another, more recent case of alleged sexual assault.

Occam's Razor demands an alternative explanation for the skewed numbers, but--- I refure to verbalize it.
