I swear, public and private education ~ or is that "edumacation" ~ in Jawja is falling behind in the basics of "words have meanings".
What is the deal with folks here criticizing races they know nothing about???
Deal voted consistently conservative for the past 17 years. Look up his voting record. He is a former vet, was the one endorsed by GRTL, NRTL, Taxpayers Union, Anti-illegal immigration groups, NRA, Georgiacarry.org. He IS the most conservative of the two.
He was not my first choice (Johnson was the grassroots candidate) but he will be an excellent one to have in our corner against Barnes.
When you support gay rights, domestic partnerships, and support abortions (the GA Right-to-Life absolutely refused to endorse her in this campaign or any other political campaign, then you are a RINO to me. When you vote to give taxpayer money to Planned Parenthood, (over $1 million dollars), that confirms it even more. That is just a start for her.
Sure, Deal was a Democrat, but like President Ronald Reagan, his former party left him, and he had to leave that party.
That "Conservative" enough for you?
There WERE no Republicans in Hall County when Deal began his career way back when (some time in the 70s, I think. He's been a DA, a judge, and a state senator). But the Democrats up there are old-fashioned conservatives, socially and fiscally. I believe it's the most conservative district in GA.
When Deal switched parties, he did it before the election and gave the Dems the opportunity to defeat him in a fair fight. They couldn't do it.
Handel's career has all been in Atlanta metro and post-dates the country Democrats. But she holds some positions that are antithetical to conservatives on abortion and gay rights (and she lied about the latter until presented with a copy of her check to the Log Cabin Republicans).
