On July 24, Kimberly Dvorak, of the Examiner, and Don Amato, of the blog Diggers Realm, broke the story about two Texas ranches outside of Laredo, Texas, being seized by members of Los Zetas drug cartel. Today, Ms. Dvorak posted a copy of the police blotter which provides a good deal of the information necessary to confirm her initial storys claims:

Thanks for keeping us updated on the invasion. Look for Obama to sue the Ranchers for hate crimes.
It’s war!!
I am not holding my breath until the Laredo newspaper reports this. They value their lives. Where are those outside investigative reporters when you need them?
Thanks for the updates.
We were out of town that week but, never heard anything on local (Austin area) TV or radio.
Thanks for pinging me to the update. I wondered what had happened!
Here’s one I missed...another example of non-reporting:
Mexican Drug Cartel Seizes Texas Ranches Update: Los Zetas Plot to Blow up Falcon Dam near Laredo
July 25, 2010
By LBG1
Media didn’t report May, 2010, Los Zetas Falcon dam plot incident until weeks after incident occurred
In May 2010, a small army of law enforcement scrambled to thwart a plot by the los Zetas cartel to blow up a dam near Laredo TX. Local media didnt cover it nor did the national MSM. The best source of news as the incident unfolded? Los Zetas, who warned residents on the Mexican side with pamphlets and announcements via bullhorns. The Houston Chronicle reported on it6-8 weeks after the fact.”.....
.....”MSM, LOCAL PRESS, LOCAL AUTHORITIES REMAINED MUM DURING THE BATTLE FOR FALCON DAMDESPITE DISCOVERY OF DYNAMITE NEAR DAM BY AUTHORITIES”.....
Makes no sense. Why seize it when they can buy it?
Because they CAN.
What we need (and with the current illegal regime in Washington, we will not get), is to go old school Blackjack Pershing on their Mexican asses, I would start with an AC-130, giving the crew instructions not to come back until all ammo was exhausted.
Pay close attention to the date of the article
Thanks for that article B~R, and I noted the date: which suggests that for over a year, law enforcement has been aware of the strong possibility of just such a ranch being used by Zetas on U.S. soil, and I refuse to accept the idea that with all of the investigative tools and plethora of willing informants, that they just “couldn’t know for sure”.
Exactly, that's why this whole ranch seizing thing doesn't make any sense, to me anyway
Ping...
Interesting because there was zero visibility in the so called MSM.
Apparently a terrorist takeover of a ranch on U.S. territory is not enough to get them interested.
Maybe if they had kidnapped Lindsey Lohan, now THAT would have made it prime time...
Or worse yet, had they broken in on a taping of The View and ravished those four femmes fatale; we’d be hearing no end to the cries (from the MSM) for Obama to do something about the illegal alien problem!
Hmmm...an idea...could we? Naaahhhh....
You people just know know the half of it. Talk to my aunt and uncle in Laredo, Texas.
Their story of illegal aliens (YES. ILLEGAL ALIENS. They are not ‘immigrants’. They are not ‘guest workers’) will make your blood boil
They’ll tell you about having their home and outside buildings broken into by illegal aliens.
They’ll tell you about having guard dogs and livestock killed by illegal aliens.
They’ll tell you about being afraid every time their teenaged daughters leave the house. (will they be kidnapped and sold as sex slaves to a drug cartel?)
They’ll tell you about being reprimanded by the local sheriff about firing back at an illegal alien caught stealing on their property.
They’ll tell you about a neighbor rancher who found a rotting corpse left behind on his property by an illegal pack leader.
They’ll tell you about cut fences and vandalism
They’ll tell you about the trail of filth they have to clean up weekly on their property- bottles, cans, clothes, paper, dirty diapers and human excretement.
It’s enough to make your blood boil. These are decent, hardworking people who have owned this ranch for generation- and they are considering selling out and moving for their own safety. The law won’t do sh*t about it.
” Its war!!
Yes it is, Blackie, and it may be up to us in Arizona to take it back ourselves. Several of my friends are ready, and the average Arizonan is ready to spit nails.
Obama has allowed a foreign gang to occupy part of our state. This is TREASON !!!!
Thanks for the update/ping(s). BTTT!
Why pay for something you can just take~ if you are already of the criminal mindset that actually makes more sense than buying it.
The cartels are getting stronger and bolder and cannot be controlled in Mexico where they do as they please and only worry about other cartels, not government officials or law enforcement- if they don’t go along with what the cartel is doing they are simply murdered, same for the media.
The cartels are beginning to get bolder in the U.S. and so far it doesn’t seem like we have the will to stop them so they are beginning to feel like they can do what they please on this side of the border. The more they do that we don’t respond to or respond to effectively then the closer we get to the situation in Mexico. Mexico did not lose control to the cartels overnight, it happened over a period of years and escalated to the point it is today, and is still getting worse.
If we don’t want the cartels running this country or at least large areas of the border and key drug distribution cities we better act now and with great force. All we have to do is look at what is happening in Mexico to see what our future will be if we ignore the threat.
dittos for the Rio Grande Valley TX
Question: Is this a hoax?
I received an email with lots of pics of weapons and uniforms seized in Mexico. Here is the cut & paste.
http://www.itnsource.com/shotlist/RTV/2010/05/13/RTV1188810/?v=0&a=1
Mexican soldiers discovered on Tuesday (May 11) a makeshift camp used by drug traffickers along a path in the municipality of Higueras in Nuevo Leon state where they seized a large weapons cache after a shootout that left at least one suspect dead.
The shootout happened in an area known as the Camino a la Laguna, just 500 meters from the main highway, some 55 kilometres north of Mexico’s industrial hub, Monterrey.
According to reports, close to 25 people who were working in the area escaped when the shootout started.
When the shootout ended, the soldiers moved in and discovered nine vehicles equipped with radios and military uniforms. Soldiers also seized a large weapons cache that included 130 long-range rifles, grenade launchers, at least one rocket launcher, a box of grenades and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
NOTE: Nuevo Leon state borders, TX, not AZ, but this does not diminish the threat!
