Back about six or seven years ago, I got into a ‘friendly discussion’ with a woman who was a passenger on my shuttle van. She was a Democrat and a precinct officer in her voting district. I remember that she made a comment during our discussion similar to Mr. Ried’s....
“I don’t know how anyone who makes less than $25,000 a year could be a Republican.”
Now, at the time, I DID make less than $25,000 a year with a family (at that time) of 5 (now 6). I never understood the logic (or lack thereof) of her statement until just recently.
Not that it’s news to anyone here, but the Dems WANT you to be poor, they WANT you to be stuck in a job that you can’t advance in.

Yes....that is almost true....but a valid opinion.

They also want those statistically judged as "poor" to be getting all manner of federal and state aide. In that manner, 1) the dems can "buy" their votes, and 2)keep the poor dependent on the dems for their very existence.
However, if these folks do manage to rise above "poor", they'll be expected to pay more than their fair share back into the "poor box" because it was the federal and state aide that allowed them to rise - not their own initiative.

Kind of a "damned if you do, and damned if you dont'" scenario.

And don't you think the dems may know it!!
