No surprise: CT Republican choose one of three liberal primary candidates. People in CT have been drunk on liberalism since the repeal of prohibition.

McMahon is not the Conservative she is trying to pass herself off as to the people of Connecticut. She is another handpicked candidate by Connecticut OP(formerly the GOP)elitists.

BIG, BIG, BIG, Mistake Connecticut Voters.
You had a chance to go with Peter Schiff who probably understands the economic problems of the country better than anyone in Washington D.C. And yet you Connecticut voters put up this woman. What's wrong with you guys & gals?

Well, her spouse has lots of dough. Hope he can put it to good use for the campaign.

Schiff was no better than McMahon. I attended more than one of his meet and greets, listened to him speak in public and on a local radio talk show. He's a one issue person who would not talk about other topics unless specifically asked.

I voted for Schiff, but he wasn't a great candidate. McMahon has been pouring money into this race, and will continue to do so. She'll have a really strong GOTV operation in November. That should help Republicans take back the Fourth Congressional District (Shay's seat, now belongs to the Democrats, via Jim Himes) and maybe the fifth district as well (was Nancy Johnson's, now ultra-liberal Chris Murphy).
Simmons sort of say the whole primary race out until he started running ads about two weeks ago. Thing is, if he had run for his old house seat, he probably would be able to win it back. There's not a great chance to retake that seat now.
So what happened with Schiff. He doesn't come across well. Part of it is arrogance, although I think he's entitled to that. He was skeptical of the housing bubble when almost no one else was. However, I don't think he really made a lot of money, which is sort of weird, because he definitely knew what was going on.
McMahon is no conservative, but she for whatever reason wants to be Senator. At the very least, she may help swing two congressional seats over to the Republicans.

Schiff had a Reaganesque grasp of the economic morass we are in.
But he would have lost big to Blumenthal.
McMahon is a lib in RINO clothing, but her massive finances will make this a dirty race that will be closer than many predict. Right now, I say Blumenthal gets a narrow win.

BFD. There's nothing wrong with a one issue guy IF he's not in an executive position. There are 99 other members of the US Senate. This is particularly true IF the issues is as important as Economics. I disagree with Schiff on a number of issues, but on the economy he's the most articulate guy out there and I think he just might have won. The press is going to destroy this woman in short order in a way they could not do with Schiff.
Big mistake Connecticut. This would have been a great seat to pick up, now I think it's almost a guarantee it will stay Democratic. What's wrong with you Connecticut?

I hope you are right about her helping swing CT-4 back to GOP from the Pelosi lapdog Himes.
I voted for Schiff today and Rob Merkel for CT -4. My guys lost but the battle moves on to Nov.

Everything is wrong with a one issue person when that issue is not national security and wants to join a body whose paramount concern is national security.
The press is going to destroy this woman in short order in a way they could not do with Schiff.
So long as he would not have been asked about issues other than the economy. The odds on that happening would have been nil.

Yeah, I voted for Merkel, but I think that Debicella seems like an acceptable candidate.

Yeah, his one issue is the out of control growth of govt, and its spending and debasing our dollar, and destroying our economy.
He was the Tea Party candidate, and his supporters, tho few, were actually very fired up about him, and believed him when he said things like ‘I will decrease the size and scope of the Federal Gov’t.’
McMahon, to be sure, says many vague things like, I think people create jobs, but, does anyone actually expect her to do something free market or fiscally conservative, like, vote no on an unbalanced budget?
I disagree with Schiff on some of the social issues, but, I at least believed him to actually do what he promised to do.
To: Man50D
McMahon is not the Conservative she is trying to pass herself off as to the people of Connecticut. We said the same thing about Christie too. Look how that turned out.
Granted he's not a super rock-ribbed conservative, but for NJ he's perfect. Maybe McMahon will be a reliable vote, not a conservative but I don't envision her being one of the Maine RINOs.
