If we let the situation deteriorate more than it did already, putting dissidents away as crazy with the media support will certainly be the order of the day, as you said:

However, on the expanded subject of what communists do to subjugate a population, including but not limited to, controlling, falsifying an/or outright cancelling elections; I got attacked by a normally-reasonable FReeper because he/she thought that I’m scaring people and don’t trust the American people!
An armed population is very difficult to subjugate. Just keep in mind that communists never surrender to the will of the people. They have to be forced.
Anybody who lived under tyranny will agree with what I said. Let’s be vigilantly safe than sorry.
