The medical profession is obliged to do appropriate work-up and care of a patient who is capable of making decisions and wants everything possible done, regardless of the “payday”.

The key word - "appropriate". My comment was INAPPROPRIATE treatment, hospital stays , etc.. drive UP the cost of medical care so that now we are forced to reduce APPROPRIATE care because the person is "old". Eliminate the admitted waste and abuse in the system first ...
