If cars had a Jesus bobble-head on the dashboard, the ACLU would be out suing.

Does the California legislature ever wonder why so many citizen taxpayers are moving out-of-state?

The is Orwellian. This is madness. Government wants to control everything you do from birth to death, and record most of it.

No thanks, who sponsored the bill?

Why would any law be needed to “allow” this? The ACLU has carried the ball for so many fishy things that it can’t nose out any more whether something stinks. I could go get one and put it in my car right now if I wished and it wouldn’t be illegal. Car dealers could offer them as options and no law would be broken. The only thing that might be questionable would be for the car dealer to not let you delete the option or to not let you shut it off later.

The American Civil Liberties Union said they are not opposed to the bill

Sad...this is not surprising.

Most modern cars today already have a computer that provides all of this information , and those who drive them don’t even know it.

Now if these things were controlled with a parental key, that might be just dandy before loaning the car to the kids.

Can I turn the tape over to the Cops, so that they can write tickets to all the morons on the road.

Absolutely as long as it only applies to Government Agents. Let them try it out for the first 5 years, then let We The People know how it works out.

Government Agent-
All Persons employed by any government agency, All persons required by law to take an Oath or Affirmation thereof to, Uphold, Enforce, Defend, or Protect The Law, The US Constitution, or the Constitution of Any State.
All Officers of the Court.

It should also be a crime for any Government Agent to make Deliberate False or Misleading Statements during the course of their official duties.

I propose a law requiring a railroad spike to be fixed upright in the center of the drivers seat, to ensure that the driver sits still and pays attention to the task at hand.
