Ann Coulter to Headline Gay Conservative Fundraiser, 'Homocon 2010'
Associated Content ^ | Aug 7, 2010 | Mark Whittington

It seems that the irrepressible Ann Coulter is going to headline a fund raising event by a group called GoProud, a Gay Republican organization. The fund raising

The Left, as one might imagine, might have a hard time putting together the word "gay" and the word "conservative" in the same sentence. But, as the GoProud website suggests, gay people, like black conservatives, can also be in favor of "--limited government, individual liberty, free markets and a confident foreign policy."

GoProud particularly opposes the estate or death tax since gay couples do not enjoy the marriage exemption to the tax as they are not legally allowed to marry in most states. In fact, one GoProud spokesperson called it "the gay tax."

GoProud somewhat eschews traditional gay political issues like same sex marriage and hate crime legislation in favor of tax cuts and rights of gun owners.

Ann Coulter, who once used an anti gay slur to refer to former Presidential candidate former Vice President candidate, and former Senator John Edwards, would seem an odd choice to headline something called "Homocon." But this is another stereotype that the Left likes to impose on people. Surely one cannot be a straight conservative and not hate gay people?

Apparently Ann Coulter can be a right winger and show up to party with gay folks. In fact, when asked about it, she said, "I'm the right-wing Judy Garland!" The late singer and actress most famous for her starring role on "The Wizard of Oz" was well known for her associations with gay people.

Believe it or not, I heard Sarah Palin has a big homosexual following...she’s the Liza Minelli of conservative politicians...

Tammy is a kind of hot...

>>> Deep down, a lot of elite/big-money conservatives don’t really care for the social conservative issues.

Perhaps it’s not the issues so much as the Hundred- Percenters who work so diligently to keep themselves on the impotent fringe by demanding the majority swear total fealty to those agendas. Fringes are pretty easy to write off, especially when they never will be satisfied anyway.

Turning on Coulter of all people. geez

>> Tammy Bruce rocks - I began listening to her years ago when I loved in LA. Her transformation is remarkable.

Absolutely true. She is a powerhouse on the correct side. But considering how “immoral” she is, if she tried to post here the way things have been going, how long do you think she’d last.

I’m glad, and I think that Bruce is a Palin fan.

Nice way to insult freerepublic, is that your method of working in liberal digs? Conservatives do fine here, liberals take heat, it would depend on her politics.

You don't even pretend to be conservative do you?

“So, the fact they do promote a lot of Conservatism as such: lower taxes, strong military, individual liberty, capitalism..none of that matters?”

A strong military? With people who are sexually interested in you training you, promoting you, demoting you - are you serious?

Individual liberty? What liberty do businesspeople have when they refuse to cater or photograph or officiate a gay wedding? What liberty do adoption agencies have when they are forced to place with homosexual couples? What liberty do teachers have when they are compelled to describe and promote homosexual activity?

Yes, destruction of the nuclear family and promotion of homosexuality is a plant of the commies.

“25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”

As read into the Congressional Record, Jan 10 1963.

GOProud says they strongly support the new institution of ‘homosexual marriage’. Sorry, but that is a deal breaker for me. They clearly have an agenda to form a political group based on their sexual lifestyle choice. I have never heard of GOPolygamy or GOPedophile. What does someone’s bedroom behavior have to do with politics?

BTW, my wife says she saw one of these GOProud people on FoxNews pushing for open homosexuality in the military. That is another one of the gay agenda items I find truly insane.

“So, the fact they do promote a lot of Conservatism as such: lower taxes, strong military, individual liberty, capitalism..none of that matters? And if you were really honest, couldn’t you say the same thing about Religious Conservatives? I mean, after all, aren’t they also promoting the “Religious Agenda” at some point? And further, isn’t largely a Christian Agenda..which leaves Jews like me sort of left out? I mean, if you’re gonna start the “ ‘X’ agenda” argument from any party’s factions, lambaste them all.z’

I think this is what Ann Coulter ISN’T doing. We should be quiet and listen and learn.

Ann must be hard up for money.

Why would any political group form their identity around a sexual practice? It seems totally bizarre.

Because their goal and the goal of all homosexual groups and their leftist allies is to use the homosexual issue to eliminate or erode religious freedom, parental rights, freedom of association and free speech.

How does working to outlaw abortion, perserving what marriage is and allowing prayer and religious expression in public schools in anyway leave you out unless you're a Jew in name only?

Well then you should take it up with Ann Coulter. Evidently she can overlook

Um, she is supporting an organization that is pushing for same-sex marriages, an end to DADT and whose goal is to normalize homosexuality, all things Ann has said she opposes.

So, unless she opposes that agenda before this group, she is either selling out her alleged beliefs or is someone that will compromise to make a buck. Either way, she loses a lot of credibility with conservatives.

Conservative homosexuals do not promote homosexuality.

Then, you concede GOProud isn't conservative?

And, other than Tammy Bruce, can anyone name a homosexual that fits the definition you just gave?

David Brock, who wrote the Real Anita Hill, ended up betraying conservatives and going liberal. So, did Andrew Sullivan.

Well, last I checked..individual liberty, which they do espouse and defend, was THE principle this country was founded upon.

And, the last I checked the Founders that proclaimed that openly stated that liberty and the rights that go along with it come from God. Those Founders were almost all Christians and Judeo-Christianity was the foundation of the law and freedom in the nation.

BTW, all those Founders believed homosexuality was a crime. They would have considered members of GOProud criminals.

I don't understand your post, who is GOPproud? I never mentioned him or her.

Oh, GOPproud the organization, they are the reason that freerepublic and I think Palin, boycotted CPAC, does that tell you anything?

Ann Coulter has been seen and photographed in West Hollywood, CA at gay bars with gay male friends. She clearly is a phony on these issues, and may well be a lesbian herself.

Ann Coulter’s spoken out very strongly against the gay agenda in the past, so I think it was a matter of her gaping inconsistency there, and not any excessive demands on my part.
