Just to set the matter straight, for the most part I could not care less about the South, its places, or its people. I spent a number of years there while in the Navy and it was nice enough, but I was glad to return home at the end of my active duty. But I don't live there, and don't care to live there. I don't vacation there or visit there, because I can't think of any place I care to see or anyone I care to visit. Other than national politics I don't follow what goes on down there in any great detail, because I don't care what y'all do within your own borders. For all you Southron types who live in horror of waking up one morning and finding a Yankee moved in next to you, let me set at least some of your fears at rest and assure you that it will never, ever be me. And if all that is 'bald loathing' or 'irrational hatred' then so be it.

The slobber bar is missing but after rooting around my 300 year old blacksmith’s house, I found a period, hand wrought iron rod that hubby will mill to replace it.
The iron is smooth and silky and a joy to touch.
