I would like to report on a successful Tea Party in West Bend Wisconsin today. It was held at the Washington County Fairgrounds. The highlight speakers were our Republican Senatorial Candidate Ron Johnson, our candidate for governor Scott Walker, Joe the Plumber, Congressman Glen Grossman and Thomas Paine.
The crowd was 2000, pretty crowded parking. It was a great sunny day. Ron Johnson told of his decision to run after speaking at another Tea Party. I have to say, he is the real deal. He's passionate and speaks about our Freedoms. Russ Feingold should be putting out feelers for an ambassadorship to some plush lefty country.
Scott Walker also is a dynamic speaker. He referred to his killer ads that highlight his opponents 8 year inaction on Milwaukee's small sewage problem. Under Tom Barret, our city has dumped 2 billion gallons of sewage in our precious fresh water lake. (Where are all the environmentalists? If a government does this kind of carp...is it pollution?)
Congressman Grothman was short but riveting. He described the government upping the ante on affirmative action, keeping a database of all employees in all sized companies and their earnings with emphasis on hiring and making numbers. Think of this recession where 90 percent of the jobless are males.
Ron Johnson is awesome.
Yep. As he was leaving, he passed me and I got to shake his hand. You know how politicians are taught not to shake hands firmly so they don’t lose their strength and get hurt? Ron Johnson gave me a bone-crusher.
November is coming.
I was there with my parents. Great crowd! I wish I had seen more young faces though.
I am thinking that 12 September will be the day that tells us how the Tea Party is doing. I am rather impressed with whoever thought of the idea of doing Tea Party events on 12 September. It is brilliant especially because every year it is so close to the election. What a way to get our message out, get the enthusiasm going, and perhaps if people are smart (and I know they are) GOTV is an incredible opportunity.
