David Letterman is a liberal kind of guy, and like many on the left, old Dave is kind of frustrated these days. A new Gallup poll has President Obama's job approval rating at just 41 percent, with 53 percent disapproving. Those are the lowest numbers Gallup has posted since Obama was inaugurated more than a year and a half ago.
So Dave is seeking answers to the president's diminishing popularity, and that kind of conversation usually involves the Fox News Channel, which is considered by the left to be all anti-Obama, all the time. Since I work at FNC, I dispute that perception. But there is no doubt that Fox News is the most skeptical TV news organization when it comes to analyzing the president.
Consider this: If Obama was being worked over the way President Bush was by the establishment media, his job approval rating would probably be in the 20 percent range. Remember the brutal media beating Bush took? Today, the mainstream press is largely neutral or positive on Obama, even as many Americans are having doubts about him.
But let's get back to Letterman. Speaking with far-left MSNBC News commentator Rachel Maddow on his program, Dave listened as she put forth the preposterous theory that Fox News wants to frighten white Americans by reporting negatively about black Americans. "Scaring white people is good politics on the conservative side of the spectrum, and it always has been. The idea is that you sort of rile up the white base to be afraid of an other, to be afraid of scary immigrants or scary black people..."
In the past, paranoid, dishonest rants like that would have been dismissed as fringe speak. But not anymore. Without a shred of evidence, a guest on Letterman's "Late Show" (which by the way gets trounced in the ratings by FNC every night) defines an entire news organization as a racist enterprise. And Letterman goes along with the program, adding: "These people are continuing to fan this flame and ... that is cancer."
Please.
The only people Fox News is scaring are far-left loons who see their shining city on the hill on fire. For 18 months, the United States has been governed from the left, and things are not going well. I'm sorry if this analysis frightens some folks, but when you spend a half-trillion dollars trying to stimulate the economy and you create just 600,000 jobs, well, people are going to notice.
When the war in Afghanistan turns chaotic, Americans are not going to be pleased. When the nation's debt is increased by more than a trillion dollars a year because of record spending, folks are going to get a bit nervous. So, in order to counter those realities, the far left must divert attention from them. Thus, the scary black people deal.
In reply, here's a Top 1 list for Letterman and his uber-liberal guest: The American people don't need to be "riled" up by phony race baiting. They are already riled up by reality. And the polls prove it.
Even a pinhead gets it right twice a day.
Race...it’s all they have left.
Not a bad summary and conclusion by BOR.
they will really panic when Americans take to the streets!
All they ever had. Race ain’t workin anymore.

Every now and then even a putz like O’Reilly comes out from under his desk to make a good point.
"Scaring white people is good politics on the conservative side of the spectrum, and it always has been. The idea is that you sort of rile up the white base to be afraid of an other, to be afraid of scary immigrants or scary black people..."
The only problem with the bull dyke's theory is that the "scary black" is not some figment of voters imagination.
The fact is, the New Black Panthers get away with thuggish behavior, and Eric Holder and Hussein Obama smile and applaud.
Until they address this crime, they can expect to be reminded about it 1,096,246 times.
Why are you attacking the author instead of discussing the article?
Nah. It would be much lower than that.
Now I know we’ve swerved into bizarro world when BOR makes sense.

The left always divides people by color. They don't care much for black people.
They've been trying to "help" them for years buy fighting FOR slavery during Lincoln, filibustering AGAINST civil rights, and keeping blacks locked up in impoverished, inner city cages begging for government cheese today. If they could torture the blacks even more, I'm sure they would! And Lord knows they drool at the thought of slaughtering their unborn babies.
And at that point the teleprompter comes back on line, and they settle down and go back to the script as if nothing had happened.
I believe that sums up what the liberal management of the SRM believes "ordinary Americans" would do, would call for, if they were allowed to say what they are really thinking on a mass media venue. This is one reason (they believe) that on-air talent must be carefully vetted for political correctness, baked in at the organic, subconcious level.
They fear this because they know that just one incident of this type could lead to an FCC takeover of all the networks, which of course is an existential concern to them (and so is understandable, at least to some extent).
They project this fear onto FOX News. Partly it's because FOX is beating the crap out of them in ratings. Partly it's because they think that their goals and priorities should be the goals and priorities of the universe. They are so confident that they are on the true side of right in the great struggle between right and wrong (which, oddly, many of them profess not to believe in) that they think a threat to their world-view is a threat to civilization itself. This, in turn, is because they live in an echo-chamber where only a very monolithic view of life is acceptable. That view of life comes down to this: the lowest common denominator is the guiding standard in all content decisions. Of course, when it comes to their personal compensation levels, perks, choice of friends, etc., the "lowest common denominator" is the farthest thing from their minds.
This is not hypocritical, of course, because they so ernestly take the side of the lowest common denominator in their "on-screen" personas. This is such a noble gesture on their part that they deserve a pass on all contradictions between the lives they lead on a personal level and what they call for for everyone else.
Lefties didn’t think there was anything wrong when 0bambi’s approval numbers were unnaturally high in the beginning for no reason at all except for a cult-like adoration, but now that he’s completely F-ed everything up and we can actually judge his performance, the lefties are amazed that they can be so low.
Amen. Letterman has gone the way of a lot of his ilk, Just plain nuts. What a pathetic loser.
If the media actually did it’s job and reported the REAL black on white crime rates (reported by many non-partisan groups) that exist in this country, America would be very nervous about black culture.
The unreported and denial of black on white crime is media racism at its finest.
You have to be really whacked-liberal to think that MS Fox News is “conservative”.
MS Fox News is really not much different from the other cable channels now....they hate Birthers, they like Illegal Aliens, they coddle Islamic Terrorists...heck MS Fox News is the only news channel partially owned by a supporter of Islamic Terrorism
