From another website: American VIP Humiliated at Airport

"When Shalala arrived at the airport, she was not recognized as a VIP and was even afforded what she claims to be 'special' treatment because of her Arab last name. She claims she was held for two-and-a-half hours during which she was asked invasive and humiliating personal questions."

Let’s see if this story is accurate or not. Doesn’t sound right. A possible plant to embarrass Israel?

Hey, Shalala has more class than Sebelius (and more than Napolitano who has none). That puts her up a little bit in my ranking of ex-Clinton officials.

This website WAFA is the official propaganda arm of the Palestinian Authority and is not to be trusted on a good day.

Lots of cut and paste information in their item, and lots of contradictory statements.

“While I was inconvenienced, Israel’s security and the security of travelers is far more important. I have been going in and out of Israel for many years and expect to visit again,” she told the Chronicle.

IF she said this, and that's a big if, than she's ok with me.

“A possible plant to embarrass Israel?”

Why would this embarrass Israel?

And I suppose the Israelis are going to send her home. Take it easy, friends. Slow down. Give her a good cell at IPS and take your time processing her. Don’t be in such a hurry to send her back. Are you really sure she didn’t sneak in drugs or brings guns to Hamas? Is there anyway you can hold her just being a worthless human being? Please use your creativity. Surely there’s SOME reason to keep her in prison.

Why would this embarrass Israel?

Because she is a really ugly person. I'd be embarrassed to
to have her in my neighborhood.

The Palestinian propaganda machine, and that of much of the Arab world (which I see on a regular basis), always love to take any incident, real or imaged, and use it as a hammer against Israel, Zionists, matzohballs, etc.

Some of the stuff in Egyptian newspapers is on par with Dur Sturmer and Pravda at their prime.

I hope that our level of awareness and intelligence is way above the hate-monger media of the Middle East.

Nobody gives a crap what they (the rag heads) think except themselves. The fact is that Israel does an excellent job with security. We should do as well here.

B/c the arab lovers are going to jump all over it to “prove” Israel is a “racist” country. I’d like to see any of those ppl get in an Arab country as non-muslims.

FYI for those who’ve never been to Israel.

Israel airport security is unbelievable but mostly more difficult on leaving vs arriving.

Cop an attitude, even in the slightest and expect a 2hr interogation or even get your visa revoked.

I had a letter from the CEO of the company I was working for and still got 45min of questions.

A fantastic 3 months!
