Yes, yes, I know. I am most likely going to be blasted for riding the fence on this one.
I am a conservative Republican. I believe in lower taxes, securing our borders, and protecting our country and our Constitutional rights. I support our troops and take pride in the foundation America was built. I own guns, and I know how to aim accurately. I want our country to thrive, I want our economic hardships to cease. I want my kids to enjoy a solid future and not owe the government for the entirety of their lives. I want Reagan to be reincarnated, dang it.
I dont think a mosque should be built near ground zero, for the love of God, no. Not unless the planning committee behind it is willing to build within the mosque a cathedral, a temple, and a chapel to show pure diversity and offer THAT message but I digress.
As for gay and lesbian marriage. What is wrong with it? Really.
I dont feel that just because I am heterosexual and choose not to have a piece of paper claiming I am married (yet reap the medical and household benefits, etc.) should offer me difference in treatment than a couple of the same gender who wants to be married but cant legally do so. I can choose not be married, officially on paper, and obtain the benefits, allow my common-law spouse to make medical decisions if I were on life support, hold health insurance for my entire family, and be looked upon in a way that is acceptable by society, simply because I am a woman who loves a man.

Sorry, I couldn’t follow the link at work to the rest of what passes for an opinion. Here is a repeat of what I have put forward to briefly slap down the promotion of a mental disorder:
“The trap is to agree to the underlying premise in the first place. Homosexuality is a behavior, not an identity. By failing to understand this, you build your argument on a falsehood to begin with. The examples of the recent court custody fights between states are a perfect illustration. In these fights one half of a lesbian couple leaves the lifestyle and gets married to men. They then dont want to share custody with the former female partner.
So how can it be an identity if you are gay on Monday and straight on Friday?
The core problem is that homosexuality is a disorder. It is an aberration of the normal. Sorry, facts are stubborn things. The judge in this case suffers from the disorder and should have recused himself from the case to begin with. Many gays become ex-gays over time and NARTH and other organizations can help.
This ruling should be overturned, but with the current lack of thinking among people, it is doubtful it will be. Regardless, the homosexuals who marry will not be married. Marriage is between a man and a woman. No one is denied that.
Whats wrong with lowering the age of consent to 13? Whats wrong with a guy marrying his African Gray? Whats wrong with necrophelia?
The Bible clearly condemns sodomy and calls it sin. The gay agenda includes making the Bible illegal as "hate speech.
Do you have children/grandchildren? The LAW will require your kindergartners to learn gay lifestyles as normal. You don't think sympathy for homosexual pedophile behavior isn't around the corner?
Guess what? If anyone in your family wants to have a child adopted, the gay agenda includes FORCED ADOPTION into gay families.
This is only the beginning. Its a parade of horribles and a slippery slope that doesn't end until you reach Hades.
Phew! Got in before it was locked or zotted.
What is wrong with it? It is depraved. That is what is wrong with it.
We have a souless electorate now thanks to the Lord being removed from our foundation. We will see more and more of this thinking.
My question to the author would be: Why does he think it’s ok?
THAT should be a bumper sticker.
The civil liberties are not the issue.
I grew up as a Catholic and was taught about the seven sacraments:
Baptism, Confirmation, Confession, Holy Communion, Holy Matrimony, Holy Orders, and Extreme Unction.
The belief is that a marriage is as sacred as one who accepts their role in Holy Orders as a priest or nun. Holy Matrimony is as sacred as confirming your faith, or being baptized. These sacraments help to build our path to salvation.
Isn’t this very disrespectful to those of Christian faith to strip away what we hold holy?
I got a divorce in the early 70s and felt that I was excommunicated from the Catholic Church. Instead of griping about my woes and trying to change a RELIGION, I changed my belief system and have followed another religion that is close to Catholic. My point is who am I to challenge a sacrament? What gives someone else the right to change a sacred event to fit their ego?
I have no problem with civil unions. I have a problem with disrespecting the sacrament of matrimony.
They say they are being denied the right to marry because they engage in homosexual acts.
But two men who engage in heterosexual acts can't marry each other either.
Besides, this is not about marriage or rights or any of that other crap they spew. That is all diversion. This is about destroying morality and standards.
This is about destroying this country from within. Rome-style.
The ironic thing is, if this country ever is destroyed, odds are it will be Islam that will take over.
And I'm not 100% sure how Islam views homosexuality but I have a feeling it's not quite as understanding as the current climate is.
What’s wrong with it, for a start is that our marital tax benefits were provided to benefit the children of a union. Biology makes procreation by two of the same sex impossible.

GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD BUT LOSE YOUR SOUL FITS THIS POST. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT ABORTION??
Every American adult has always had the right to marry one consenting adult of the opposite sex, regardless of his or her sexual orientation. By instituting gay marriage, we have set a precedent for ANY group to redefine marriage to make it more in line with their subjective sexual tastes.
That which violates the rights of others may rightfully be prohibited. That which does not may not. That is the invariant, universal principle of Liberty that applies to everyone, everwhere, on all subjects, in all situations and contexts.
This world is made up of too much hate and entitlement and whats in-it-for me. When debate surrounds itself around people who love each other and want to be able to be married, I find it a shame. Terrorists, murderers, baby-rapists .they dont deserve the air we breathe.Gays and lesbians let them be in love and marry if they choose. Life could embrace a lot more happiness and neighborly respect if so.
Its all about good people, legal citizens, who want free choice in their personal relationships and life stature. This is what America is about.
VOMIT
Just what is next? Marriage between man and animal? Man and child? It begins to become blurred...
What if you want to marry a horse? How about my daughter, or sister? Are you ok with that too?
Neither does polygamy, or incestuous same sex marriage violate anyone’s rights, should those both be legal too? Does that fit into your universal concept of Liberty?
They want in because they make $$$.
License (state/local level)...and have you noticed, HIGHER FEDERAL TAXES for most incomes.
Let's go back to our churches/synagues and pay the preacher/rabbi...
the government can suck eggs.
