CHICAGO — Alone on his 49th birthday, President Barack Obama fled the empty White House mansion for a more intimate celebration with longtime friends in his Chicago hometown, including Oprah Winfrey.
Obama has been living a bachelor's life for the past few days with first lady Michelle Obama and daughter Sasha visiting Spain and daughter Malia spending the month away at an undisclosed camp.

Yes, it’s strange that he has his first birthday as POTUS alone, that his wife and one daughter go on vacation, and his other daughter is at an “undisclosed” camp.
Strange, like his daughters’ imaginary “no press” soccer game he sneaked out to, that didn’t happen. But then I’m easily confused... I still want to know who was in the plane that day over NYC.
Now that post about OBAMA was too funny! Some might not GET it. Probably over the HEADs of most leftdolt lurkers FROM democrat underground, kos, and their BUDDYs! Can imagine WHO they’ll blame and how they’ll CARRY on about this if they do get it. Not to worry, though. After all, their DOGs are probably smarter than they are. AND if they do GET it, they’ll probably BLOW their stacks FOR OBAMA!

Just a question: Think about all of the “happily” married couples that you know. How many of them when they have the opportunity to spend their birthdays together, which would include a meal prepared by a chef, a beautiful location, and some quality time together, would choose to GO OUT OF THEIR WAY to spend it apart? If like me, probably not many or any at all. This really baffles me.
I think it is payback because I heard Rush Limbaugh say that Obama doesn’t give Christmas gifts or Birthday gifts.

Wouldn't this be his second Birthday in Office? He was inaugurated in January of 2009 if memory serves.
We expect a leader to be effective in his job, not just a public relations artist who is "all hat and no cattle."
Funny thought. Maybe they celebrate his birthday on January 20, much as the Brits celebrate the “Queens Birthday” on the anniversary of her coronation, not the date she was born.
