If the person was just lighting a cigarette why not continue the flight so as to not inconvenience the hundreds of other passengers? Maybe they were worried about the effects of secondary smoke on the other passengers. You can’t be too cautious about cancer, you know.

key words here....'foreign national' and 'ran into the bathroom'.......sounds like either a terrorist attack or almost as bad, a 'Flying Imams' deal where the muzzys are trying to make some kind of point that we are targeting muslems....which we should be doing
