(NewsCore) - The security scare on an American Airlines flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport to LAX on Wednesday was caused by a passenger allegedly smoking, the Transportation Security Administration said in a statement.
I’d beat the living crap out of him. The doctors would have to pull his matches out of his small intestine.

It’s really hard to believe that an AA jet bound for LAX would instead land in New Mexico and screw up its own schedule and everyone else’s just because someone lit up a cigarette.

And 40 years ago, when that “no smoking” light was turned off with its little “Bing” sound, a hundred matches and lighters went off...filling the cabin with thick, blue smoke.....Ahhhhh, now those were the days.

I don’t think those Zippo or Bic lighters pass through security anymore.
Funny story...I remember when they were banned at security (many years ago), but you could buy them once inside. I could never figure that out! lol
They have e-cigs now, very popular (amongst nicotine fiends that is) and non-offensive. This lighting of matches is no longer in vogue.

The ones that Achmed smuggles in might be filled with something else (and it ain’t bacon grease). Or they could be modified in other creative ways.

They removed the passenger and were scheduled
to leave for LAX @ 1700 MDT (5:00pm)
Instead, the actual time of departure was 2229 (10:29pm)
They arrived in LAX at 2310 (11:10pm)

There’s a place in DEN that sells some great ones, too! United gates. Just ask any pilot or flight attendant and they’ll point which way.
