You don’t understand the law of defamation. It requires more than merely saying something that is wrong and harmful.

This report lacks a fundamental detail, these ladies were talking to this man and they have nothing to report on him besides a suspicion of smell. Clueless housewives, with little or no barstool exp. acting as the 'alcohol police' is whats wrong with this story.

Behaviour along with strong suspicion, not suspicion of smell alone, would lead me to make such a report.
