Racism Charges A Distraction
Posted 2010-07-31

THERES NOTHING LIKE playing the race card to grab attention, and thereby get a leg up on ones adversary, except when the racial trump card has been overplayed, and it stops trumping. Mention race as the impetus for some action, and the details of the racial action are more likely to elicit rolled eyes and cynical comments than to draw concern.
The charge of racism used to mean something, but it has been so overplayed by political partisans that it now means nothing. Among those making the charges, among the perpetually insulted, are the usual suspects the Rev. Jesse Jackson, the Rev. Al Sharpton, the political left and todays NAACP. Now, when a non-black person disagrees with the current administrations astonishingly expensive spending sprees, the discontent is labeled racist because, well, we do have a black president. The Tea Party has racist elements, according to the NAACP.
Who are the Tea Partys supporters? According to a March 2010 USA Today/Gallup Poll of adult Americans, demographically, Tea Party supporters parallel the American public in age, race, educational background, and level of employment. For example, a collective 73 percent of Tea Party supporters are employed full-time or retired. Seventy percent of all Americans are employed full-time or retired. Collectively, 21 percent of Tea Party supporters are non-Hispanic black or other race; 26 percent of all Americans are non-Hispanic black or other race. The polls statistics indicate division along economic, not racial, lines.

Usually, as soon as some idiot throws the race card, I assume that he is a moron with very little intelligence and consider any conversation or debate as being over.
After that outrageous and chilling post on Journolist - “pick some conservative - doesn’t matter who - Fred Barnes, Karl Rove - and call him a racist” - that charge has lost all legitimacy and can never be made with a straight face again......
Exactly. On a "mixed" political site I beat liberals over the head with the fact that they've changed the definition of "racist" to mean someone they don't agree with. I haven't yet had one argue otherwise, a bit surprisingly.
That’s it exactly. If they don’t agree with you or can’t beat you in a debate, you must be a “racist”.
Racism charges are often a distraction.
So much for many/most blacks being Race PimPs...
The question IS?.... WHO ARE THE WHORES?...
If 9o+ percent of white voters voted for a white candidate in a white vs. black contest, that would be labelled a racist vote, and rightly so. But such a colorful vote for a black candidate goes largely unremarked by our “watchdog” press. Not a big deal, wholly to be expected, and therefore unremarkable.
I always laugh at the idea that people who didn’t vote for Obama are racist because of Obama’s ethnic persuasion. As if someone, Dennis Kucinich for example, other than Obama were president, all the conservatives now criticizing Obama would be sitting on their hands or applauding the socialist takeover. It’s mindboggling how stupid that idea is.
