Missouri voters have strongly approved a new law that rejects a key provision of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul.

Tuesday's vote approving the ballot measure is seen as largely symbolic because federal law generally trumps state law. But it could portend trouble for the Democratic Party in November's midterm election.

“Those peasants protesting outside the Bastille are largely symbolic. Let them eat cake. Another piece of $100/lb Wagyu beef, my dear?”

I wonder if they’ll view the loss of the House and Senate in November is merely “symbolic”?

Yes, the margin by which Obozocare took it on the chin is symbolic of the magnitude of the defeat the Rats are going to get on November 2nd.

I was one of those who voted “Yes” on Prop C! We took a stand against Obamacare and unconstitutional federal tyranny!

God bless you and all Missouri voters who voted Yes on Prop C! THANK YOU!

I sure wish we could vote on this in deep blue Connecticut, but it'll never happen here...

This claim couldn't be more incorrect! Any federal version of health care is unconstitutional since Article 1 Section 8 does not specifically list regulating health as an enumerated power! The people are not bound to comply with an unconstitutional act! It is time for Americans to defend the Constitution by openly defying the marxist regime!

Republicans outvoted Democrats by 2-1 in their primaries as well yet Robin Carnahan who is running against Roy Blunt for Kit Bonds seat, commented that the reason Missourians voted for nullification of Obamacare is that the benefits have not kicked in yet and it is confusing to voters. They just don't get it.It will be open season on jackasses in November.

Government has no business “lower(ing) health care costs.”

It needs to get out of the way, and the free market, through the pricing mechanism, will provide services at the appropriate cost.

They do when they had a large part in raising them in the first place. If government is going to get out of meddling with health care they're going to have to eliminate Medicare and that proposal is not going to draw 72% of the of the vote in Missouri or anyplace else.

Start the Spin Machine:

1) The ballot issue was confusing. Many who voted YES thought they were voting FOR the health care.

2) Democrats didn’t vote.

Why this spin is wrong:

The ballot was actually quite clear in the wording. You were either voting FOR a State Constitional amendment, or you were voting against the Amendment. The Amendment said that Missourians would NOT be required to purchase health care.

I have heard several Democrats say that they voted Republican for the first time EVER. So the heavy Republican vote was actually because Democrats voted Republican!

This just can’t be - Bill Clinton himself assured Obama, Reid, Pelosi and all the other smug thug ‘rats that once Obamacare was passed the people would just love it - as my nephew said yesterday, the more you see Democrats in action, the more you have to believe they’re just plain stupid.....
