Missouri voters REJECT key provision of health care law (Happy so-called birthday Hussein!)

Mo. voters reject key provision of health care law

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Missouri voters have strongly approved a new law that rejects a key provision of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul.

Tuesday's vote approving the ballot measure is seen as largely symbolic because federal law generally trumps state law. But it could portend trouble for the Democratic Party in November's midterm election.

Legislatures in other states have passed similar measures. But Missouri is the first state to challenge aspects of the law in a referendum.

Missouri's law prohibits the government from requiring people to have health insurance or from penalizing them from paying for their own health care. That conflicts with a federal requirement that most people have health insurance or face penalties starting in 2014.

Hey yo, ask the AnnointedIdiot if he gives a *hit? Apparently, it makes no difference given polls consistently showed the majority of Americans were against ObamaCare.....and yet, they ended up shoving it down our collective throats.... =.=

Oh darn, there go the media's polls telling us that a majority of Americans now approve of the Democrats' health care reform. Get the pollsters out of the way, let people vote on it, and 75% of them are against it. I'm sure this will bring great comfort to the Democrats as they contemplate what this means for their chances of retaining their seats in Congress.

Start the Spin Machine:

1) The ballot issue was confusing. Many who voted YES thought they were voting FOR the health care.

2) Democrats didn’t vote.

Why this spin is wrong:

The ballot was actually quite clear in the wording. You were either voting FOR a State Constitional amendment, or you were voting against the Amendment. The Amendment said that Missourians would NOT be required to purchase health care.

I have heard several Democrats say that they voted Republican for the first time EVER. So the heavy Republican vote was actually because Democrats voted Republican!
