If Rubio cannot beat such a candidate in the primary (underfunded, no name recognition) how can he hope to beat Crist in the general?

Are you kidding? Rubio is going to cream this guy. I'm not worried about him losing. I'm just pointing out the absurdity of FReepers here on this thread touting him.

The main problem such a challenge brings is that if Rubio takes it seriously (he should), then he might make a gaffe in campaigning. If he is impolite of perceived as such, he risks alienating some of his base. Most politicians (and especially their managers) don't like variables thrown into primaries. For us, it is a good opportunity to get him on the record on issues we care about.

He is on the record on the issues. He's been running for Senate for a year now. Obviously, you don't care about his record and would rather crash and burn pushing your 1%er.

if you are not worried about Marco Rubio losing why is he avoiding any contact with Dr. Escoffery, could it be that he KNOWS that Dr. Escoffery is a stronger candidate and is imtimdated by the fact that he might actually have to debate him on the issues.

To all the Marco Rubio fans out there please explain to me why Marco Rubio is aggressively avoiding contact with Dr. Escoffery..

Exzcuse me. I am a Rubio supporter. I also see no reason to not play out the primary season. I think primary debates are a great way to get free airtime. I think some sort of challenge keeps a candidate sharp.

I believe that Marco Rubio is a rising star along with Palin, Jindal, Pence and Nikki Halley. I don't bust on people for supporting another candidate in the primary because I might want their support later, and because it is the right thing to do.
