State Supreme Justice Richard Sanders, facing two opponents in the Aug. 17 primary election, is once again defending his judicial record as he seeks a fourth term on the bench...painting him as an agenda-driven judge who is incapable of being impartial.
Wiggins points to Sanders' admonishment for improper judicial conduct in one case and an alleged conflict of interest in another.
Sanders voted in favor of defendants more than 94 percent of the time in over 350 cases regardless of the facts. And Wiggins said Sanders voted 90 percent of the time for no or lighter discipline against sanctioned attorneys who come before the court.

Who do you vote for in this situation. Isn't Saunders endorsed by the Republicans? Sound like a whacko to me.
Just moved from Nevada where the supreme court sided against a law requiring a supermajority to raise taxes. It was for the children....

The NRA endorses Sanders and gives him an A+ rating.

Regarding Sanders,
Pro Gun Judge Needs Your Support Excerpts:
Sanders wrote, Gun ownership is an inexorable birthright of American tradition. Americans who participated in the Revolution of 1776 and adopted the Bill of Rights held the individual right to have and use arms against tyranny to be fundamental. State v. Sieyes, 225 P.3d 995 (2010) --snip--
Of course this isnt the only opinion from Justice Sanders on gun rights. In a closely divided court he fiercely dissented from a terrible majority opinion in Pacific NW Shooting Park v. Sequim 158 Wn.2d 342 (2006) that allowed the sheriff to shut down a gun show in clear violation of state statute.

IMHO Sanders is a good guy; I've met and chatted with him on a number of occasions over many years -- I think I first met him at a KCGOP picnic on Vashon Island which would put it sometime in the 90s.
Very strong libertarian bent and not ready to bow to prevailing orthodoxies (liberal or conservative), which means of course that he likely gets little support from the WAGOP (if I am wrong I'd be delighted to know). Also not afraid to step his foot in it, which is here being used to hurt him by the MSM who presumably want yet another ultralib on the court: They want you to think he's a whacko.
I'm voting for Sanders. And that's before I looked at who's supporting Wiggins.

So far, you've sourced The Seattle Times and the Seattle PI, two leftist rags that I wouldn't use to wipe my butt. Any conservative from WA knows that these sources are biased way to the left. (Example:
Seattle Times news editors cheered Rove resignation news) What are you trying to prove?

If the enemedia hates him, then he must be a good choice.
I did not care for his outburst against Mukasey in 2008.

I did not care for his outburst against Mukasey in 2008.I didn't either and was critical of him for it. The guy is outspoken and in that case should have kept his mouth shut.

He’s a good duy and worth the support.
I worked with him on a small project outside of the legal field and he can really explain himself.
A good guy and great judge.
Besides, what’s the alternative?
