Barry the grudge-bearer must really be steamed at all the Democrats who went to Rhinebeck last weekend, leaving him in the shadows of other peoples' news. I guess there's always more room “under the bus” but it's almost getting to the stage where turning on his natural allies would yield negative returns. You'd think he'd have a bit more of the average politician's instinct for building bridges, alliances, and friendships. I'm thinking he doesn't have any reall friends left.

Tick tock tick tock.

In his first autobiography he talks about his best friend in high school (a guy who was also mixed race, in that case Japanese and black). When the guy got out of prison after some kind of drug-related sentence and was trying to get back on his feet, he tried to get in touch with Obama who was either Illinois state senator or US senator at the time, and got a complete brush-off.
