Absolutely. I live ten miles away and know the company and its people. The local leftie newspaper gave the idiot an audience and here is my response to the reporter:

“Yeah, I can see a guy who gets caught stealing from his employer imposing the death penalty on 8 people for alleged racial comments or insults. Ironic, they let him resign (!) so he could get another job. If sane people thought like Thornton, even on rare occasions, there’d be daily executions everywhere, eh?”

Moral of the story: The journalist’s pen can lend creedence to the most preposterous of notions.
