A Muslim case against the mosque

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf bills his plan for an Islamic cultural center near Ground Zero -- which the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission is expected to vote on tonight -- as a platform for interfaith cooperation, dialogue and understanding.

But the plan is obviously provocative and confrontational -- and it's hard to imagine that Rauf didn't know that long before it became public.

That's one big reason why American Muslims, like other Americans, should reject the project -- particularly if they really want to adhere to traditional Islamic principles. I say that as a Muslim convert since 1997.

Traditional, moderate Islam teaches Muslims living in non-Muslim-majority societies to obey the laws and customs of the country in which they reside. They must avoid conflict with their non-Muslim neighbors whenever possible.

Yet it was no secret that a major Islamic construction project near Ground Zero would offend many New Yorkers; indeed, American Muslims themselves were uneasy about the idea from the beginning. Rauf, while he preaches peace, chose the path of controversy and provocation by originating this mosque project.

"Moderate Muslim" seems like an oxymoron to me but he author, a convert to Islam, sees it differently.

Traditional, moderate Islam? This doesn't exist. And clearly the author of this piece must have missed the passages of the koran which dictate that all non-believers must either convert or die.

As an athiest I couldn’t give a damn what those following this religion of violence and ultimate world-domination think about this subject. Followers of Islam think in terms of the long game—decades and centuries. We are willingly aiding them in their long-term goal of taking over and destroying this nation, and I see no reason to mince words about this woman-hating, child-molesting bunch who want to kill or enslave those who don’t agree with their perverted beliefs just because it is an established religion.

They need to provoke REAL violence so that,along with their fascist allies on the Left,they can finally have a “reason” to go totalitarian.
The “Yo Mama!” Mosque at Ground Zero,they hope,will be the ultimate provocation.

islam knows no such things as interfaith cooperation, dialogue, and understanding. My local church back in VA let the muzzies use the basement for their Friday worship. If the situation were reversed do you think the sons of allah would accommodate Christians? Sure - just look at all the churches in Riyadh......

If you are a Muslim.

Lets take a look at some of the teachings to ALL Muslims taken from their own holy books.

Kill disbelievers wherever you find them. If they attack you, then kill them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. (But if they desist in their unbelief, then don’t kill them.) 2:191-2

Have no unbelieving friends. Kill the unbelievers wherever you find them. 4:89

Exhort the believers to fight. They will win easily, because disbelievers are without intelligence. 8:65

Slay the idolaters wherever you find them. 9:5

The “Religion of Truth” (Islam) must prevail, by force if necessary, over all other religions. 9:33
Fight the disbelievers and hypocrites. Be harsh with them. They are all going to hell anyway. 9:73

If you are Muslim, this is what you believe. Like it or not these statements are a statement of you faith.

There is no way they can avoid thosefundamental Muslim beliefs. To toss them out would be turning Islam into a different religion altogether.

Their problem is that largely because of the internet they have been found out and resistance to their plans is growing—throughout the Western world, really. They can protest, whine, and plead “religious freedom” all they want but exposure of what the prophet requires of Muslims is causing their apologists to be ignored by informed people more and more.
