Whom Do You Trust More — Fox News or the New York Times? Democrats Say Fox!
Big Journalism ^ | August 2, 2010 | John R. Lott Jr.

Only someone at the New York Times would claim that their paper was not “anywhere close” to Fox News on bias. What was surprising was the source of this trashing. Clark Hoyt, the just retired ombudsman of the New York Times, supposedly served as the conscience of the paper, mediating questions of whether the paper fairly and unbiasedly covered the news. If anyone at the Times is going to warn the paper that they have gone too far, it is the ombudsman.

Yet, when Mr. Hoyt recently appeared on C-SPAN’s Q&A with Brian Lamb, he held little back.

I watch Fox News from time to time, and I’m always fascinated by its view of the world compared to the view of the world you see in other media outlets that I would not consider partisan. The stories they choose to highlight, the way they are described, and I’m not even getting to [Bill] O’Reilly or some of the unabashedly opinionated parts of Fox News. I do not believe the New York Times is anywhere close to that.

Even worse, . . . .

I would add that the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press is extremely biased—to the left. So I suspect that the real numbers may be even better than this.

Compare Fox, the Times and FreeRepublic and see who wins out. People on FR don’t have an ax to grind. They may not always be exactly correct but they are willing to discuss matters and be as honest as they can.

I have been watching Fox News for about two years and they give better coverage on most of the programs. They give both sides to let you make up your mind. Can't say that about most others in the news business.

Bottom line Fox got big Brownie points with the Dem for give a balanced view during the 2008 primary in the Hillary vs Obama battles

Funny I say if they took a poll right now across the political spectrum.. Rep, Dem and Ind... "If you had a do over would you prefer Hillary or Obama to win the 2008 Dem primary"...I say Hillary would win in a landslide with all party's

BOR is “partisan”??

If only that were true! O’Reilly tries far to hard to be a populist, and does not have the courage to be “partisan”.
