It is said that music/orchestra conductors live long lives, mostly due to the cardiac exercise they have had always using their arms for great lengths of times as they do. I believe it is true. Try doing what they do for hours on end. It takes strong upper arm and body muscles to do it without getting sore and tired.

And, as others have said, living then...when families were watching TV together, was wonderful. Our parents knew where we were, and we knew where they were...without having to TEXT them.

*snort* My cell phone plan includes free 24/7 text messaging. I never use it. I tell people that I hadn't realised Alexander Graham Bell thought he was trying to reinvent the typewriter . . .
