I don’t think I’d go anywhere near the well once it’s sealed, for the reasons you mentioned. There’s no reason not to produce the deposit, though, and there just happens to be a spare well right there. So once it’s politically correct to do so, I suspect they’ll produce it through the back-up relief well.
With all the effort, I still can’t keep up. An hour before I opined here that they’d produce the deposit through the backup relief well, BP announced they wouldn’t be. Apparently its desire won’t permit that.
