THe greater majority of Jews do not hate Jews who convert. We puzzle over it, but then we read a newspaper. Move on, no real story worth kvetching over.

And we are only dealing with a small number of converts to and from Christianity and Judaism. It happens and we can get over it. We’re all big boys and girls now.

I view Christians, including the fundamentalists and some evangelicals, to be the best friends of Jews and Israel around.

Go to Dearborn and see if you can say the same thing about the Moslems there (and some Lebanon Christians) re being the best friends of Christians and of the U.S.

I would wager a guess that the Jews who are truly hostile to Christianity are in fact hostile to intrusive evangelism; there are many Christians who are taught that they MUST convert the Jews to Christianity or they will all go to hell. I myself believe that Yeshua is the Messiah, but I'm not going to go around beating people over the head with the New Testament, especially observant Jews who have their own covenant with the same God. I would have much the same opinion of a group of Hare Krishnas who camped out in my driveway.

I'm sure there are also a few ultra-purist Jews who reject out of hand any other variation on their faith. But for the most part, Jews should realize that real Christians are on the same team. We are "grafted in" to the same olive branch whose roots are God. We have the same commandments, if not the same observance of Torah laws. We have the same expectation of redemption in the world to come. Our differences are few.

These "extreme/fundamentalist near-sects of Judaism," unlike the majority heretical "branches," are real Judaism. The heretical non-Orthodox "branches" are not.
