Rush was saying the other day that in order to charge this piece of junk a 220Volt outlet will be required.

Your problem is that you listen to a guy who knows nothing about automobiles. Rush Limbaugh probably has never changed the spark plugs or oil in a car. He made so many errors and misstatements on the radio the other day it made me sick. FACT: The Volt can completely charge on 220VAC in about 4 hours. On a 120VAC Outlet it will take nearly 10 hours for a full charge. Most houses have 220VAC outlets. If you have a dryer you are likely to have 220VAC. You need to read up on the Volt @ GM-Volt.com instead of listening to the blow-hard Limbaugh. Limbaugh doesn't know which end he's talking out of.

Are those supposed to be selling points? Bwaaaaahahahahahaaaaa!

"Honey, unplug the drier and drop that 10ga extension cord down from the laundry room will ya? Honey? Honey? Where'd she go?"

So how stupid does it make GM look for using him as a spokesman?

The fact is most houses don’t have 220 volt connectors in their garages or on the out side of their homes...they will have to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars having these outlets placed in a location where it would be useful enough to plug these cars in. They can use existing 120 volt lines but as you said...10 hours, not remotely useful.

You sound like a GM shill! We’ere supposed to believe GM’s own propaganda without questioning their premises?

God, you’re right...I do have a dryer, so all I have to do is run a long, long, long extension cord from my dryer outlet to my garage and plug it in or out depending if I have to dry some clothes...I’m glad there are experts like you to inform the rest of us!

Am am willing to bet Limbaugh will still be #1 long after the VOLT is forgotten.

So if you live in an apartment or a high rise what do you do? If you live in one of the many “bad” neighborhoods what do you do? If you need an extension cord, what do you do? OK, so it hypothetically it could charge in 10 hours on 110 V, but what if you needed it in 5 hours...buy two...or three? If you parked it in an airport lot for a week while you were away, would it lose its charge? Why any individual would purchase one of these is beyond me. I did see one guy with a prius who had the vanity plate “LessCO2” yesterday ...maybe he would. This is truly the 21st Century Edsel.

Hey pal you’re the one that sounds like the “blow hard”! Ok the 220 Dryer outlet could be quite a distance from where your Volt is parked. What will do disconnect the dryer every time you plug in your volt or run a 220 line from the circuit panel back to where your car is parked? What if you live in an apartment building and have no access to an outlet? Get your landlord to put one in for you? Just keep reading the Obama motors manual and you’ll get all your answers.
