Yeah, good luck with that. The Inept Party never clarifies its positions and, when it tries, the DBM won't cover it. I'm all for supporting the 911 first responders - they are valiant, courageous people who redefined courage and valor. By the same token, as another poster noted, they also have very generous health and pension plans.
The taxpayers shouldn't be on the hook twice to give the Dems another "feel good" mmoment.
If they are a unionized government body, then screw em.
Same with the cops and FD. I hate to say it, but those unions, are the reason we are where we are, and overwhelmingly those unions support dems. Even the FOP consistently supports the same dem politicians here, year after year.

Well cops, this is your union. Well FD, this is your union. Well emergency dispatchers, this is your union, and they are giving a portion of YOUR earnings to support these crooks who steal from you.
Republicans are not your enemy, the TEA party is not your enemy, we have been here to back you 100% for years, but you have continually gave us the finger by supporting a socialist agenda through your unions.
Well, now were broke, and the first thing those officials want to cut is YOUR pay and YOUR benefits, while teachers, administrators and every other pig at the trough gets theirs first.

As far as this bill goes, no one is telling us what else was in the bill. My understanding was that there was a ton of earmarks and pork in the bill on top of it.
Typical dem bill. Name it something nice, make a small part of the bill something that no one wants to vote against, jam it full of crap and put whip cream on top of it, then scream and yell when it is not supported by everyone.
Enough of them games. No more friggin earmarks, no more pork attachments. No bill longer than the constitution itself. Make every congresscritter sign that he has READ the bill, so they can’t backpedal later and say they didn’t know this or that was in the bill.
So sick of it all. And yeah, the repubs are generally just as bad. We had several years of pushing pork and earmarks as well, we were betrayed by our own party when it comes to fiscal responsibility, and now we are getting screwed at warp speed.
