It wouldn't matter -- it never does. Only look at how the Dems were able to capitalize on the gubmint shutdown back in 95, they falsely accused Congress of doing it, when it was all Clinton and got people to swallow the idea that children would starve, Big Bird was gonna die because the GOP was so selfish.
The vast majority of people in this country cannot be bothered to understand reason and logic, especially when it comes to fiscal matters, they go on emotion. It is one of the reasons so many in the GOP cave all the time.

Exactly, and that’s why the Stupid Party should have been orating like Weenie all day every day for the last 70 years. That’s how a man acts when he is passionate and outraged.
True, Weenie is passionate and outraged about the wrong stuff, but it would work just as well if the Republicans did it to get air time for the truth.
