I always was fond of “Otis”! :*) I always thought one of the funniest episodes was when he poured a bunch of booze into the water cooler to get rid of it! Another neighboring lawman was visiting Mayberry, and Barney was so nervous. Then to calm his nerves, Barney takes a drink of the ‘water’.
The following scenes were a scream! Barney was so looped on the ‘water’, he was barely able to stand! Andy and their guest come in and Barney has this dopey grin on his face! Andy introduces him to the guest and Barney says in this slurring voice, “Hhhiiii”! Andy said something like “Barney, you’re gassed!” None of them ever guessed what Otis did!
