A Daily Kos contributing editor has suggested that “Steve Milloy and his buddies” commit suicide or be euthanized apparently for the crime of opposing global warming alarmism.
Amid a rant on his Examiner.com blog about skeptics “carpet-bomb[ing] newspaper editorial pages with climate change disinformation…], Steven Alexander, who writes for Daily Kos under the nom-de-plume “Darksyde,” wrote that:
… if only Milloy and his buddies could check into one of the [Soylent Corporation's] lovely medical suites for a short nature movie and a glass of wine…
The reference is to the assisted suicide scene in the 1973 movie Soylent Green, starring Charlton Heston.
The Clarity Digital Group, which owns Examiner.com, removed the offensive posting immediately upon notification.
Former Washington Post reporter David Weigel was recently fired from the paper for privately writing on the Journolist listserv that Matt Drudge should “… set himself on fire.”
Now Alexander has publicly wished a similar fate for climate skeptics.

The AGW folks are having a meltdown on a personal level now that the real heat is on--for them to explain fraud, lies, nonscientific manipulation of datasets, editing of data sets to produce desired results, questionable, undisclosed, and unrepeatable methodology and 'results'.
Some new line like a biological threat they can tie into CO2 somehow is their best new bet. But it won't have the same freshness. 'Once burned twice shy' is what they're facing now.
Not to mention the concerted effort to silence other scientists who don’t agree and, with the help of the corrupt MSM, make it appear that there aren’t any. There are loads of them.

I also meant to say that they can’t drop CO2. Cap & Trade makes no sense at all if you don’t say something mean about CO2.
They always harp that many of us are employed by the energy industry, but ignore the apparent conflict of interest inherent in obtaining grants to find what the government wants them to, then denying others' peer-review of their research if the results of that research tend to question or refute AGW hypotheses.
It is no surprise that a handful of people with the same agenda could dominate academia, the literature (by virtue of academic postings) and control subsequent graduates' success dependant on their research results agreeing with the consensus of the self-proclaimed 'leaders' in the field.
I used to think the MSM cared about their credibility, but they haven't investigated anything which might stymie the socialists since early in the Vietnam War, and exposing socialists was on its way out by then.
Hey, Daily Kos, if you want to euthanize us, you might want to come for our guns first...I have about 5 that have about 300 rounds each that you could try to take.
I wonder if they plan to use energy efficient low carbon footprint trains to haul us nonbelievers to the liquidation centers.

What is really news and is truly scary is when Dr. James Hansen says before serious people that skeptics should be jailed and that coal plants should be shut down forcibly by ‘activists’ along with similar comments by Al Gore. One is a long-serving NASA scientist, the other a former Congressman and vice president. No blogmeister could ever approach their power and influence, and frankly he can make all the “Soylent Green” references he wants without me caring a whit.
We only care only so far because if ANY major right wing blogger who say this. It be all over the news as examples of right wing violence, but the media is silent when one of their own does it. It illustrate the double standard
