WASHINGTON — Veteran New York Rep. Charles Rangel said Thursday there's no deal yet to settle his ethics case and avoid an election-season trial on charges of violating House rules.

He’ll plead guilty to jaywalking, pay the $20 fine, and Pelosi will see that he gets $750,000 for his campaign fund. Which Rangel will get to keep when he finally retires.
My guess is the filing of charges was a hard high one over the inside corner...brushing him back a tad. Looking over the “charges”, they rise to the level of a censure but the demoncraps do NOT want a trial. Of course, he should be criminally charged for the tax stuff but my guess is turbo tax Tim will interceed in that one...not going to happen.
Behind the scenes, this probably has as much to do with those who see the future of the demoncrap party better in the hands of der leader or an equally inept Clintoon. Last thing they want is a primary challenge similar to 1980. Charlie Tuna has made some nice comments about HC over the recent past and some not so nice comments about the commie in chief. They want him out without a fight so they are telegraphing this point to him: take the deal Charlie Tuna.
