Appeal on ruling on Illegal Immigration law expected today

PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona is preparing to ask an appeals court to lift a judge's ruling that put most of the state's immigration law on hold in a key first-round victory for the federal government in a fight that may go to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Gov. Jan Brewer called Wednesday's decision by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton "a bump in the road" and vowed to appeal. Protesters in Phoenix went ahead with plans Thursday for a march to the state Capitol and a sit-in at the office of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. The sheriff said if protestors were disruptive, they'd be arrested, and he vowed to go ahead with a crime sweep targeting illegal immigrants.

Paul Senseman, a spokesman for Brewer, said Arizona would ask the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco later today to lift Bolton's preliminary injunction and to expedite its consideration of the state's appeal.

Bolton indicated the government has a good chance at succeeding in its argument that federal immigration law trumps state law. But the key sponsor of Arizona's law, Republican Rep. Russell Pearce, said the judge was wrong and predicted the state would ultimately win the case.

I want the State of AZ to know that I appreciate what they have done for all of our beliefs, this UNITED states of America, CITIZENS, LEAGAL citizens. The Mexicans who are here legally, you are one of us now, your allegiance should be with this great nation, you left your nation and now are one of us. Please back the laws we have.

Before my wife died, we spent a lot of time driving throughout Mexico on several occasions, always had to have our papers ready to show the authorities when asked to do so. One STILL must have legal papers on them at all times. Not here, makes no since at all.

What about the others crossing the border, the terrorists, which they do cross, can't ask them anything?

The damage being done to America is unbelievable but, is this by design? was and is this the plan with this administration? I think so, just read and watch the news and be shown the truth.

The 9th Circuit Court covers about 7 states and has jurisdiction over 2 territories ....

Arizona is one of them.

Seems the feds have jurisdiction, power, and total control of everything except the borders...

Oh that's right...The feds have no damn intention of securing our borders..

This is all so convenient for the feds....

Funny how well they understand how easy it is to control ignorant, uneducated people, as they roll out the red carpet for millions of them.

It is time to ignore this court ruling. It is time to start the Revolution. America cannot allow the Federal Government to steal the rights of the State to protect itself. It is time to accuse King Obama a traitor and push to have the Republicans to at least start impeachment. It will not go far because we are under King Obama communists Administration, but the effort must be started.

Hear! Hear!

At the end of the day, if the SC rules against us, I suspect Governor Brewer will have no choice but to ignore the Federal Govt and command AZ to deport the illegals.
