According to the report, Rangel will admit ethical wrongdoing as part of the deal. Theres no word on whether he will step down from Congress or not seek re-election. Multiple challengers are running against Rangel in the Democratic primary, which isnt until September 14.

Pretty much I imagine. The girls of the GOP will put up no fight, not that there’s much to put up until after the elections.

whole point of this is (and has been widely reported) that the Dems and Zer0 did not want a hearing just before elections. IMHO - Calls were made. Offers could not be refused.

News Flash: In case you arent aware the Republicans are in the minority The Ethics Committee is the only working committee where membership is equal. The majority party holds the chair, but not a majority of the seats.

News Flash: In case you arent aware the Republicans are in the minority
NEWS FLASH: As you obviously aren't aware the Ethics committee has equal representation regardless of majority minority status. Heck that has even come up earlier in this thread. For an deal to be accepted the GOP had to go along with it.
Current membership
Dem
Zoe Lofgren, California, Chairwoman
Ben Chandler, Kentucky
G.K. Butterfield, North Carolina
Kathy Castor, Florida
Peter Welch, Vermont
GOP
Jo Bonner, Alabama, Ranking Member
Michael McCaul, Texas
Mike Conaway, Texas
Charlie Dent, Pennsylvania
Gregg Harper, Mississippi
Sorry the facts have interfered with your snarky comment.

That bears repeating:
If Rangel can break the law without any responsibility, then we have no responsibility to abide by the law.

Maybe I’ll avoid paying any taxes for 8 years or so, and then strike a deal.

Not only did he violate Congress rules he violated the law. Can anyone bring charges against this guy?
You don't need a Congressional committee to prosecute someone for breaking the laws?

Yet another sterling example (as if we all needed any more) of our rinos in congress standing up for what is right, for what is moral, for what is ethical.
One wonders if the reason they say nothing is because if they decided to hang "Wrangle" for ethical misdeeds, then most of them would be subject to the hangman's noose as well.
Just sayin'......
