There is a tradition of over 200 years standing against serving soldiers engaging in partisan politics.

Except LTC Lakin didn't take an oath about that and he does not see it that way. However, his oath of office is to defend the US Constitution which has been around as long as the US Constitution.

You've made this point before, and its still incorrect. Obama has the same Constitutional standing as did all of his predecessors including Canadian born Chester A. Arthur. The Congress of the United States certified his election and he was sworn in by the Chief Justice of the United States. Until some competent authority other than you says otherwise, he is the President and properly serves as the Commander-in-Chief. I don't like it, but that's the fact.
