“I vividly recall a true Conservative named Ronald Wilson Reagan “

Hate to bring this up but that was almost 30 years ago. Unfortunately, America is NOT the same country today that it was then. We have lost a tremendous number of the “greatest generation” and replaced them with the “I can sell you anything via TV” generation.

Sadly, you must always take stock of your army and decide what objectives are achievable. Hence my pessimism that I will ever see a President elected that I would be COMPLETELY satisfied.

Conservatism is the natural order. Conservatism wins every time it's tried. Always has. Look at what is happening in Europe right now. They are several generations ahead of us in terms of the "gimme" mentality. Their Socialism is blowing up in their face and even the UK, where better than 50% of the population receives a check from the gubmint is turning more conservative with every passing day. The problem is we have very few true Conservatives around that are able to articulate the facts. Another problem is there are a LOT of people who claim to be Conservative, but are actually Progressives or Liberals. Casual observers can't tell the difference because they don't know what true Conservatism is. Learn the history. Learn the numbers. Teach everyone who will listen at every available opportunity. The facts are on our side. Sitting back waiting for another Conservative to magically come along is precisely what the Progressives want you to do.

BTW, FDR was almost 80 years ago and you don't see Liberals or Progressives miss an opportunity to bring up New Deal Progressive ideology or the Keynesian philosophy that prolonged the Great Depression by 10 years. The (not so)Great Society was nearly 50 years ago, but you never see Liberals or Progressives miss an opportunity to ballyhoo Medicare or Medicaid, despite the fact that both are dismal failures......
