CHICAGO -- Rod Blagojevich is an insecure man who talks a lot, but he is not a criminal, his lawyer told jurors yesterday during closing arguments at the ousted Illinois governor's corruption trial.
Sam Adam Jr. told jurors that he did not call Blagojevich to testify, as he'd promised at the beginning of the trial, because the government did not prove its case.
"I thought he'd sit right up here," Adam said, shouting and pointing at the empty witness chair. "I promised he'd testify. We were wrong. Blame me.
"I had no idea that in 2½ months of trial that they'd prove nothing," he told jurors.
Adam, known for his theatrical style, dismissed prosecution claims that Blagojevich tried to sell or trade the nomination to President Obama's former Senate seat, saying, "That man wasn't selling any seat."
He said jurors knew that after listening to hours of FBI wiretap tapes played by prosecutors.

Pure BULLSH!T
Adam, .... dismissed prosecution claims that Blagojevich tried to sell or trade the nomination to President Obama's former Senate seat, saying, "That man wasn't selling any seat."
Okay mr Lawyer. Let's stipulate that for argument's sake.
But how about Blago's attempt to EXTORT money from Children's Memorial Hospital. A CHILDREN'S Hospital, you friggen asshat! How about THAT! Or his shakedown attempt of Edward Hospital in Naperville when they wanted to to expand. Huh, mr lawyer?
Barry's senate seat was just the HL grabber. But Blago's crime spree was long, and all caught on tape. That's why he didn't testify. Extorting money from Hospitals don't sit well with a jury.
This is Chicago!
If you do not take when you can, you are stealing from your children!
