I beg to differ. Actually the early adopters will be much smarter and better educated than most of the people on this post. The Volt and its EREV technology are revolutionary new technology. GM will only make 10,000 Volts the first year and 30,000 the second year. Yes the first units are going to be expensive. That's true with any new technology. Remember the first Pocket Calculators, Computers, Wall TV's, Cell Phones? It's the same concept. There is a $7,500 rebate for the earlier adopter so the $41K is actually $33.5K. Even at the rate the Volt will easily sell out an there will be a waiting list. It will be the car to have and many will pay over sticker to get one. As GM ramps up production, the price WILL come down.

Also the price of gasoline will likely skyrocket in the next few years so by about 2012-3, we will likely be paying $5-6/gal. A lot of those people bragging about their 2002 Camaros and the like will be really hurting when they need to take a trip. The cost of electricity will be a bargain my comparison.

There are going to be a lot of people eating crow concerning the Volt and EREV technology in general.
