I’ve taken a job requiring a big commute and really need to get rid of my old car.

I’m pleasantly surprised at how little the Prius costs after a couple years, and the gas mileage is great.

Haven’t test driven one, so I am not sure if I would like it...heard they can be annoying when the transmission shifts.

Consider the Hyundai Sonata. Just bought a 2011 model and the 39mpg amazed me as well as the comfort and standard amenities. It’s a real fuel sipper.
