Too many people saw no choice last time out. Dems voted in almost identically the same numbers as in 04 but five or six million pubbies simply could not hold their noses hard enough to vote for John ("the maverick(TM)") McCain.

For that matter all McCain had to do to win was bring himself to mouth four simple words ('I oppose the bailout'), he'd be president today and he could have changed his mind later if he'd wanted to.

I mean I've heard of people throwing prize fights and shaving points in basketball games but prior to 08 the idea of anybody throwing a presidential election would not have occurred to me as a real possibility.

How very true. McCain was such a poor choice that all through the campaign I swore that some sort of fix was in. The only smart thing Juan did was nominating Sarah, she at least gave a spark of life to an otherwise amateur campaign. The problem was anytime she made a good point there was the old Maverick distancing himself from her statement.

On another note, I'm not sure about this German paper's political leanings, but it's funny them complaining about "the W0n" when German's were cheering him at the foot of the Berlin wall like the second coming of Hitler during his European campaign tour.

Obama is the Manchurian president, and McCain was the Manchurian candidate.

McCain is for bailouts, open borders, health care reform, amnesty, ....

Hello, a decorated war hero with years in the senante versus a nobody with no record. How could it even be a question.
